This year, we’ll be using a new process for schedule change requests. We won’t be able to accept schedule change requests sent by email. Our goal is to ensure all students have the appropriate courses while minimizing disruptions to their learning.
Schedule Change Process:
We will not be making schedule changes before September 5th, except in cases where there is an error in the student’s schedule, such as:
-
Missing a required class needed for graduation
-
Enrolled in a class that has already been taken
-
Duplicate classes on their schedule
-
Not having any class scheduled for a specific period
How to Request a Schedule Change:
Starting September 4th, students can request changes to their schedules. Here’s how:
To schedule an appointment:
-
Visit the Counseling Office before school (8:15 – 8:30 AM) or during lunch to sign up for a 15-minute appointment with your counselor.
-
At this time, you will receive an appointment slip that allows you to leave class at your scheduled time.
During your appointment:
-
You will have time to discuss schedule concerns and potential schedule options with your school counselor.
-
After meeting with the counselor, return to class with your appointment slip.
After School (Drop-In Option):
-
For quick questions or schedule concerns, students can also drop by the Counseling Office after school and sign in with the counseling secretary.
-
Counselors will meet with students until 4:00 PM.
Important Notes:
-
Schedule changes will only be made for legitimate academic reasons.
-
We encourage students to use the appointment system to help keep everything running smoothly and avoid long wait times. Counselors will not be meeting with students during class time without an appointment.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the RHS Counseling Office.
Hello Riders,
Roosevelt’s school counseling program aims to provide developmental and systematic support to every student, ensure their academic, career, personal, and social development, and support their participation in the broader community. Roosevelt’s licensed school counselors provide an array of interventions and supportive services to students. These are delivered collaboratively with students, school staff, families, and members of the RHS community. We intend to help prepare our students to leave high school with the skills and knowledge to live, learn, work, and contribute to the world in a meaningful way. RHS students and families are assigned and will work with the same school counselor throughout their four years at Roosevelt.
